Mark 8

Hey, its mark 8 this week...

Let's get hold of this truth and ask the Lord to work it out through our lives and into the world!

Quote of the week:

Seriously, what's more important... feeling good about our church because our pastor is such a great teacher, or seeing the truth of the Word of God become real in our everyday lives and impact the world through each of us?  Seems obvious to me!..

  1. So when I read Mark 8:14-21 I was thinking "am I in the wrong spot? Didn't we just read this?" I think it's really cool that it was brought up again. We see how "silly" the disciples were being by seemingly doubting another miracle that Jesus had in store. Like we were talking about on Sunday, how many times have I doubted the Lord or forgotten so quickly about the times the Lord has come through in the past. How easy is it for me to remember the times the Lord didn't answer my prayers? I feel like the enemy is great at bringing those up. Anyway back to the disciples. I know it's hard for me personally to not separate the Peter in Mark from the Peter who wrote 1st and 2nd Peter. Yeah that guy. It's such an encouragement to think about. The Lord was teaching Peter (and the disciples) these things about Himself through the gospels. We see them fumble, mistrust, argue and say things that they shouldn't. But then later in we see these amazing men who took what they learned from Jesus and did incredible things, even significantly changed history. I can't help but associate myself with them. Fumbling, saying things I should not but so anxious to see the the Lord will take me (us) into as we sit at His feet and listen, expecting to be changed. I'm excited to say the least.

  2. Are we in Mark 9 now? I lost track since we missed the last time everyone was together. If so, Mark 9 is teaching me some serious stuff...
